Obscura NFTs as Confidential Assets

Obscura NFTs are built using Zano’s Confidential Asset feature, which gives them full privacy by default. When you hold or transfer an NFT on Obscura, no one else can see your balance, track your activity, or view which wallet owns which token.

Confidential Assets are a type of token on the Zano blockchain designed to hide all on-chain details. This includes the sender, the recipient, and the amount involved in a transaction. Even though NFTs are non-fungible, they benefit from the same privacy protections used for Zano’s regular coin transfers.

This is made possible by Zano’s native privacy technologies, including stealth addresses, ring signatures, and confidential amounts. Together, these features ensure that NFT transfers are completely hidden from the public. Only the person who receives the NFT knows they have it, and only they can choose to prove ownership.

Because of this design, Obscura collections can be issued, distributed, and used without revealing who holds what or how NFTs move between wallets. All ownership stays private unless the user decides otherwise.
