Zano Companion Extension
Zano Companion is a browser extension that connects your Zano desktop wallet to web applications built on the Zano blockchain. It functions like Metamask for Zano and allows you to authenticate, sign transactions, and interact securely with dApps across the Zano ecosystem.
To use Obscura in your browser, you need the Zano Companion extension. It is required for minting, buying, selling, and managing NFTs on Obscura. Without it, your wallet cannot interact with the features of Obscura.
The Zano Companion functionality is also available in the Zano Mobile Wallet. On mobile, simply tap "Browser" in the app and navigate to any supported Zano dApp, including Obscura. No separate installation is needed.
How to Use Zano Companion (Desktop)
Open Your Zano Desktop Wallet
Let the wallet sync fully with the blockchain.
Enable Zano Companion
Go to Settings and turn on the Zano Companion switch.
If prompted, set a master password.
You will see a wallet secret. Copy it.
Install the Extension
Add the Zano Companion extension to your preferred browser.
Open the extension, paste your wallet secret, and set the login password.
(Optional) Register an Alias
You can create a Zano alias, which some dApps use as your identity.
Connect to Obscura
Visit Obscura in your browser.
Click Connect Wallet and choose Zano Extension if asked.
Approve the connection in the popup. You only need to do this once.
Once connected, you can fully interact with Obscura: mint NFTs, purchase collections, transfer assets, and manage your holdings, all while keeping your identity and activity private. If you're new, check out this short video on how to set up your Zano Companion extension.
